Bananas have become such a staple item in lots of healthy foodie’s fruit bowls! We all know they’re yummy to eat but they’re even better to bake with. Whether it’s banana pancakes, healthy banana bread, banana and coconut cookies or banana ice cream – there’s always something you can put together with them and normally pretty damn quickly! The natural sweetness from the bananas turns a naughty dessert into a guilt-free healthy treat whilst getting all the nutritious vitamins and minerals which you wouldn’t from typical refined sugars. Let’s be honest, they’re a win, win!
I’ve rounded up my favourite healthy banana recipes so you can all fill your boots with some banana baking this coming weekend!
1). 2-Ingredient Banana Pancakes
The Kitchn’s features always look so good, I love their site! They’ve put together some very attractive looking banana pancakes that follow a little ‘pick’nmix’ attitude with the toppings!
2). Chewy Banana and Coconut Cookies
These were a little revelation of mine… two bananas, coconut, dates and nuts and we’re done!? Easy as pie and super delicious!
3). The Simplest Chocolate Cake – Ever.
I love the way these guys have filmed this chocolate cake recipe using just eggs, chocolate and bananas…one for my bucket list!
4). Flourless Chocolate and Banana Brownies
For those who think men can’t cook, let Arman prove you wrong. This guy has got some serious bakes on his blog and these gluten-free brownies look delicious!
5). Banana Bread Scones
Afternoon Tea is one of best things invented, maybe that’s because I’m British but I can’t imagine too many people can complain about tea and treats. These banana bread scones look to die for, I’ll take three.
6). Good Morning Coffee and Banana Smoothie
Personally, I’m not a huge coffee lover but mix it with delicious sweet bananas and I think I could get there pretty quickly!
7). Banana Buckwheat Clusters
Crunchy and chewy, sweet and nutty, healthy and completely moreish! My healthy banana granola-style recipe creates little buckwheat clusters all stuck together by gooey natural bananas.
8). Chocolate, peanut butter and banana yoghurt pops!
I’m all over these when the British summer weather arrives! Such great flavour combinations and you can swap the peanut butter for nut butter to make them even more guilt-free!
9). Healthy Banana bread
I have my own banana bread recipe that I’m putting up this week but I loved Cookie and Kate’s blog for a long time so wanted to share her recipe for you all! You can pretty much guarantee any of her recipes will work out perfectly!
10). Clean Eating Banana Muffins
I remember muffins as when you grabbed one rather stodgy chocolate muffin after a sports match at school. I’m determined to clear that image from my head and these healthy banana muffins look and sound delicious!
